How Are You Going to Spend Your Time?
Are You Going to Correct the Past or
Create a New World?
I’ve been having wonderful conversations with the Archangel Michael. He and Archangels Grace and Faith have been hanging around for the past six months or so. I really appreciate their presence at a time of deep self-examination and change, especially since I have been practicing allowing my little family here freedom to choose not to be around me much during this process.
Conversation with Archangel Michael
regarding the Animal Kingdom
You all might recognize by now that I love animals greatly. My cats were the first beings who loved me unconditionally. I didn’t even know what those words meant when teachers spoke them until Cleopatra and Marcus, my first two cats, rescued me.
Over the past few months, the number of posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest about animals who need forever homes or medical care have multiplied exponentially. As well, the number of posts about animal abuse and extermination have increased. Every time I read these posts, I cry. It really hurts to hear about the situations involving wolves being exterminated for sport, dogs and cats being put down because there’s no room for them in the shelter, and so on. To be quite frank, I struggle with sadness, grief, and depression when I plug into the worries of others about our wonderful friends and family in the animal kingdom. The kind of disconnection these stories evidence feels quite disturbing. When I get down like this, I have all I can do to come up with any helpful support. I feel sure that some people are creative in these emotional states. I don’t happen to be one of them.
So, I started praying for the animals I became aware of. I love power prayers, so I prayed gratitude, love, appreciation, affection, joy. I envisioned the animals meeting their forever families. I saw them celebrating at home. I saw shelters being financed such that they were like the Taj Mahal for Animals – huge, open, resourced. I started this practice as a daily practice and often noted on a particular post that I was including a specific animal. This felt better to me; more creative and empowering.
One night I saw Archangels Michael, Grace, and Faith under my dragon banner on the other side of my room and smiled. I was thinking about all the invitations I made to those who post about animals to join me in the power prayers. I just knew somewhere deep inside that celebrating animals, being grateful for a specific animal’s presence in the world was more creative than feeling terrible that they were in jeopardy. I felt disheartened that so few folk respond to my invitations, and I asked out loud, “How can this situation improve? How can I contribute to animals being wanted, loved, supported, appreciated?” Here is what Archangel Michael told me. (For those who don’t know my work well, Archangel Michael started communicating with me when I was 35 years old. So, I’m quite familiar with his sound and feel, when he communicates.) Here is what AA Michael asked, “Are you going to correct the past or create a New World? You can’t do both at the same time.”
You Can Correct the Past or
Create a New World! But, You
Can’t Do Both at the Same Time!
Wow, that statement was a pattern interrupt, and it completely illustrates why I like doing power prayers for animals as opposed to typical animal advocacy. I love being in the creative process, the natural flow of energy and time that bubbles up when I experience joy, happiness, excitement. It just feels so good, and I know when I feel good and in the flow, resources come to create what I love to experience. My life works that way.
Conversely, trying to gain enough power, energy, and influence to force animal abusers and neglectors to stop feels stunted, difficult, sticky, and more importantly doesn’t seem to work. Here, for over a year now, I’ve been doing the power prayers and celebrating animals while I’ve been crying over specific situations and getting angry with the abusers and neglectors. No wonder AA Michael reminded me that Jesus said, “You can’t serve two masters.” I totally get that principle in this situation, because the more opposed animals lovers are to abusers, the more conflict, oscillation, and resistance there is in the energy. It’s so hard to make positive change from oscillating energy; it just doesn’t flow.
My Animal Kingdom
About a week ago, I took AA Michael’s conversation to heart and began making changes. When I do power prayers for the animal kingdom, I celebrate animals. I remember peak moments with my cats, when I visited the zoo, when I held the dogs I grew up with. I keep strengthening these recollections by reminding myself how I felt, what I saw. I include any specific animals I’m praying for in this visualization. I see them happy, in forever homes with amazing forever families, with the best food and water, feeling joy and comfort. I dance in celebration!!! Then, I affirm:
In my world all animals are wanted, loved, and valued. We love and value the two-leggeds, the four leggeds, the flying creatures, the swimming creatures, the creepy crawlers. Because all are wanted, loved, and valued, plenty of food, water, and shelter flow naturally to all animals. Medicinals for those in need are readily available because animals are important to us. Infinite Source creates Infinite Balance in Nature, and we see examples of easy, elegant, grace-filled balance in the Animal Kingdom. This is how animals are supported in my world.
Creating a New World
As I’m affirming, case by case, what I celebrate in life, my New World is creating itself. As I experience my New World, I make adjustments and know that the Book of Life is being rewritten with joy, pleasure, and plenty as I allow my own joy of creation to flow. This is how it always has been, and it is so now.
